How do I size the watch to my wrist?
Typically, a purchased watch is taken to a watchmaker to add or remove links in the band. This process, depending on the watch, can cost up to $35 to size!
All watches requiring resizing include the option to size your band for $10 at checkout. Simply use our ruler and follow our Nice Watch process to properly size the band.
We will always include any extra links that came with the original new/refurbished watch for your use later.
Watches that have adjustable bands require no resizing (leather bands, plastic straps, etc.)
What is the difference between quartz, manual, and automatic watches?
Quartz watches are battery-powered and use an electronic quartz crystal to keep time, making them the most accurate and low-maintenance option, typically only needing a battery replacement every 1–2 years. The battery replacement can be done at a battery shop or watch shop.
Manual watches are mechanical and powered by hand-winding the crown, using a spring and gears to operate; they are less accurate than quartz but valued for their craftsmanship and smooth sweeping second hand, requiring daily regular winding - like a wind up toy!
Automatic watches are also mechanical but self-winding, using the motion of the wearer’s wrist to power the watch through a rotating rotor; they offer the same traditional appeal as manual watches with added convenience, though they still require occasional wear or a watch winder to keep running.
